Our little Wat Wat had a Birthday morning today!
Our Watson has had a big third year. He just keeps growing and growing.
One of my favorite things about Watson is how he thinks long and hard about things.
He'll bring something up out of the blue and ask a question, and you can tell he's been thinking about it on his own for awhile.
For instance, we recently took the boys to Fan Fest during the All Star Game festivities and there were pictures of Barry Larkin everywhere because he was the game ambassador. So we explained to Larkin how he is named after this baseball player that we were seeing all over. Two days after FanFest and long after we had stopped discussing Barry Larkin, Watson asks me "Mommy, when are we going to see signs of Barry Watson?"
Poor baby wanted to see pictures of his name! His mind is working all the time.
This year Watson has really moved far away from babyhood. He definitely made a big move in that direction when he potty trained himself. He kept asking me to take his diaper off so he could pee pee in the potty, which is kinda a big pain. I wanted to say "Just pee in your diaper already." but resisted. Then finally I'm thinking "Why am I putting the diaper back on him??" So one day I didn't. And that was the end of diapers - day and night.
Still had to give him a few prizes.
Watson love love loves his big brother Larkin and there is a huge amount of mimicking. It is so cute to see them play together and learn together. When Larkin did his Mini School homework, Watson insisted on getting out his own lunch box and "pack-pack". I had to pack him a lunch and get him out some homework of his own.
Their imaginations are always cooking up new things. What in the world were they doing here??
But he is also sticking to his own ways in other things. A big one is his love for all things weapon. Larkin wasn't big into that kind of thing, so we didn't ever have many of them. But Watson is a different story. He takes whatever he can find and turns it into a sword.
Which really just means he makes me "put it in his back" and swing it around a few times.
Loving Leonardo though, and he has amassed every form of TMNT costume they make.
A few of his other favorite things:
Dinosaurs,
Skyline,
any type of fruit,
his Jeep,
swimming,
(lake and pool)
sleepovers with Gramps and Grammy
and his cousins,
his friends,
and his family!
Our little Watson is not one to be afraid to try new things. He usually steps up to the plate before Larkin does. And enjoys all the new experiences!
He's still got the baby pouty lip though.
Look at my cute boy!
Happy Birthday to our Watson. You are a happy and easy going guy, like you have been pretty much from the beginning. Your little voice makes us smile when the Ls and the Rs get lost in translation. You love to snuggle and be squeezed extra tight. I hope you let me squeeze you for a long long time. You're getting so big so fast. Slow down a bit for me, ok?
