Maris at 4 Months

Maris is 4 Months Old

Look at that cuteness!

Maris Monthly Review - Issue 4

  • You are 14 3/4 lbs, which puts you in the 84th percentile. Going down a bit. You are 24 1/2 inches long, so 75th percentile. Average head.
  • You got shots at the doctor's this month. You did the typical traumatized I-got-a-turtle-van-dropped-on-my-head scream/cry (real thing). But it lasted maybe 4 seconds and you were all better after a little cuddle.

  • No more Miracle Blanket this month! And it has been a bumpy ride so far. You were moving yourself around even when you were solidly wrapped, so we'd come in and find you with your face pressed into the bumper. You'd do this on purpose because you love to sleep with your face smashed into things. But it was no good for the whole breathing thing, so bye bye blanket. Without it, you spent about 2 weeks waking up 4 - 5 times a night and we (ok, Phillip) would have to put the paci back in and you'd go back to sleep. Except I wouldn't. I was exhausted. Then all the sudden you recently have been sleeping straight 8pm to about 7am with very little waking. I don't get it. But I'm not complaining.
  • Napping is completely sporadic. Most days we get 3 or 4 small 30 minute naps with one 2 hourish nap. But no real pattern to them. Mostly they take place in the go old bouncer seat.
  •
  • You wear size 2 diapers, but just barely. Your rolls are all concentrated in that area.
  • While Larkin loves you a whole lot, you just tolerate him. Your favorite person in the whole wide world is DADDY.
  •
  • You have definitely mastered the belly to back roll, and now you are trying your hardest to roll back to belly. That pesky arm usually gets in the way though.
  •
  • We continue to attempt tummy time. You continue to spit on our attempts. We shall prevail though, or you'll never crawl.
  •

  • You are also really getting into the Bumbo seat. You're still a tad wobbly, but getting stronger each day. You like to be sat in there with a good view of your brothers wrecking havoc on the family room.
  •
  • Sometimes we even see the baby neck!
  •
  • You still love to talk to people. Your favorite topic of conversation seems to be the letter G. You say it. Yell it. Squeal it. G with a lisp.
  •
  • You really are turning out to be an extremely content and happy baby. Saving the drama for the preteen years? Let's hope NOT.
