First Day of School

It is Back to School time! And this year, our big boy got to go to his very first First Day of School.

The first of about 18 (or 22 if he's a doctor?).

 

 Larkin had some mixed feelings leading up to the big day. One thing he was sure of: his backpack. We did have to look through about 300 pictures on the internet, but once he saw this Planes: Search and Rescue bag, his mind was set on it.

 

The night before, he decided he "didn't want to go to school anymore". But I just kind of ignored his comment and asked what he wanted in his lunch. M & M's helped convince him to go. So the day of, his Daddy had no problems getting him to gather all his gear and head out.

Only issue: Watson wanted his lunchbox too.

 

At school, he was a little hesitant at first. He did the usual pretend-shy thing and wouldn't talk to Mr. Mike greeting the students at the door. And he wouldn't pose for another pic. But once in the classroom, things went much more smoothly and he was ready to go.

 

 Afterwards, he had lots of good things to say about his day. OK, mostly his M & M's in his lunch. But eventually he told us all about Where the Wild Things Are, and coloring Max, and the letter of the day. Let's just hope that once the excitement of M & M's and backpacks wears off, he's still ready to go to Mini School.
