Lots of celebrations this weekend. Let's revisit yesterday's 4th of July/Link Birthday get-together.
For Larkin, this was mostly a pool party. He loves the water!
Any water...
Then on the actual 4th, we headed to Connie and Frank's for the last 4th celebration at their house. We might be at the same address for next year's party, it just won't be Connie and Frank's house anymore.
There was a lot of volleyball and corn hole action at this party.
Once future-uncle-Wes showed him how it's done, Larkin was a corn hole pro.
It's like he was born on the west side or something!
Obviously, a reason to get super excited.
He also ate a lot.
And was the official departing committee, waving bye bye to everyone as they honked and drove away.
Throughout the entire weekend we did not set off any fireworks ourselves, but we enjoyed many from the comfort of our home. For some reason the area around us has big displays throughout the neighborhood for a few days in a row (I'm listening to some big ones right now). So far Larkin hasn't shown any fear, but when he hears them he says "Boo!" Let's hope this continues next year.
We had a fun time celebrating the independence that so many have fought to give our country. Thank you God for all the men and women who serve our nation!
A couple of things... none of our children could ever resemble that of a "west sider". Don't be ridiculous. The other is... going to be texted because it's ugly.
