Larkin is 5 Months Old!
Larkin Monthly News - Issue 5
You are wearing size 2 diapers and mostly 3 - 6 month clothes. Except in pants. I think the world expects you to be covered in rolls, because they make those pants big! You still fit best into 0 - 3 month pants because your belly is little and your legs are short. Blame the Gillespie's.
You sleep pretty good at night: 8:00 pm to 7:00 am with one feeding at 4 am. Napping is a different story. We try for 3 naps, but usually get 2, and we're lucky if they are an hour long. I get NOTHING done.
You are mobile! You've been rolling for a while now, but in the last 2 weeks you've pretty much mastered the art of forward movement also, with your own version of a crawl. You're all knees and elbows, but it gets you where you want to go!
Including using the coffee table as a jungle gym.
Other big firsts this month: solids.
You are much less skilled at eating off a spoon, but we do it every night just the same.
I think you also must hate the taste of that rice cereal, but we persevere.
You have a new favorite game that produces the biggest smiles and giggles:
You like to be held into the air and (don't ask me how I know this) have your head touched to the painting behind the couch. You have a blast.
And we say goodbye to...
Our fuzzy headed baby! Your hair is finally starting to lay down a bit. It still goes up after baths, but you usually mash your head into your blankets enough that it is down by morning.
Passivity. You want to grab everything around you.
This is after Aunt Shara blew out her Birthday candles... you grabbed the cake and went for your mouth. So we all screamed, Shara laughed, and you cried.
I can't believe how fast you catch on to things. Once you realize you can do, you practice until you've got it down. You're going to be a very active child!
